Handmaids tale. The end

I like all the things that happen leading up to the end. you feel like you can trust Offred more but i do not like the ending. i hate cliff hangers so i hate how it just ends. over all it was a good story, i even recommended it to my sister.

PAPER TOPIC:
I want to talk about Offred's and Nicks relationship at the end of the story

The Handmaid's Tale

well on top of everything else that is weird in this society why wouldnt the birth of child be odd as well. The whole birthing section is so weird. but it was still good i like that you figure out what happend to moira that she got out of the red center. I think its weird one that the commander asked for her to come see him two that he wants to play scrabble and three that he want s a kiss... he is a weirdo. its still bothers me that she is so back and fourth and you never know if what she is say is true.

Scence Presentations.

Well i think the concept of this assignment was really easy. i personally hate getting in front of the class so i wasnt super excited about it. I did like my group though they made ti so it wasnt as hard to be up there. I kinda wish we had more time to get props but over all i liked the assignment and it did help me understand our scenes better.

Act 2 scene 2

In  this scene i am playing Lady Mc Beth. At the beginning of the scene she is talking about how she drugged the guards so that they can frame them for murdering the king. after she talks to herself she is worried they guards will wake up before Mc Beth kills the king and they can plant the evidence. when Mc beth finally comes back lady MB tries to calm him down but gets made he still has the daggers and goes to bring them to the drugged guards. when she comes back they talk more about the murder and then they hear knocking and go to the chambers so they dont get caught.

McBeth paper topic

I want to write about Lady Mc Beth and Mc Beth's Relationship. In my paper I want to talk about how Lady MB helps her husband kill characters and help him stay sane while the guilt of their actions start to wear on Lady MB. she is a very dedicated wife but when lady MB dies her husband only cares about the battle ahead of him.

Questions:
Alli: So is your topic the irony of their relationship? or the irony of how she goes crazy and kills herself?
-I think my topic will be about the irony of the relationship because through out the play it seems to be a strong relationship but in the end the reader finds out it may not be as strong as implied in earlier scenes of the play.
Chris: So is the reason she killed herself because of her crappy life with Mc Beth?
-i dont think its was her crappy life i think it was because of crappy decisions they made.

Daddy

I enjoyed reading this poem a little bit more. it is about a young girl being brought up around WWII. I think its about how her father died when she was young so he couldnt help her through the holocaust and she hates her father for abandoning her at her time of need and thats why she doesnt like her husband either because she doesnt want to get close enough to him and then him leave her.

Leda and the Swan

This poem is really interesting to me but i really dont know what its underling message is supposed to be. all i really took from the poem is that Leda was being forced to have sex with the swan. when i googled this poem so i could read i noticed that this poem is a representation of Greek mythology where Zeus takes form as a swan and rapes the girl name Leda.

The Chimney Sweeper And London

The Chimney Sweeper:
The boys mother died
his father sends him to work
he wasn't allowed to complain about it
his job is to sweep chimneys

Tom is crying
his was curly but now he is bald
tells the Tom not to worry about his hair being gone
without hair the soot wont get in it

He was quiet about his hair and then that night
While he was sleeping he had a weird dream
He sees thousands of chimney sweepers and some he knows
They all were dead

An Angel came to help set them free
he unlocked all the coffins to release them
In a field they laugh an run around
they play in the river and relaxed in the sun

the were naked with no belongings
they go above the clouds and play in the wind
The Angle talks to Tom and tells him if he is good,
The angle would have God talk to his dad so he would never want joy

Tom woke up in the middle of the night
got all his cleaning supplies and went to work
Morning was chilly but he was still in a good mood
so if everyone does there job they dont need to fear anything

London:
I walked though each street
near by where the river flows
in every face i meet
every one is weak and sad

In all the men who cry
they babies cry in fear
Every one was cursed
He hears everyone's mind trapped

The chimney sweeper are unhappy
the churches are up set
soilders dont want to go to war
the palace is responsible for the blood

so he hears the most at night on the streets
the young whores curse
cause the babies to cry
people are dying because of a disease

Young Goodman Brown and The lottery

YGB: I though this story was very confusing. I couldnt tell if he was going into the woods to become part of a Satin worshiping cult or what. It just raised a lot of questions for me like how did he get home was it a dream and why didnt they write and thing on his tomb stone when he died? i dunno the only thing i really got out of it is that their society strange and i think the Faith his wife knew what was going to happen even though he didnt and maybe she even helped get  him home after the fact.
THE LOTTERY: i liked this story much better and i got the concept of it right away. This is one mess up village like i dont get the point of stoning some random person to death once a year. The only thing that i could come up with is that the village believes in Gods or something because on of the old men says "Lottery in June, corn be heavy soon" its like a human sacrifice so they have a good harvest. non the less they insane and i think they are more insane that the say other villages that take away the lottery are dumb for doings so.

The Yellow Wall Paper

I really Enjoyed reading this short story. I think that since the lady was so isolated from everything she began to go sturr crazy. she wasnt able to do anything but look and the yellow wall paper and soon thats all she ever did. I think the more john tells her she cant do something the more she becomes fixated on the wall paper because thats all she has. i think she precise herself as the women in the wall paper and knows she is trapped almost in jail she cant leave and she cant do anything. the ending is what confused me the most but over all good story.

A Tell-Tale Heart

After reading this short story I loved how the person in the story was trying to convince the reader that he wasnt crazy but the action through out the story didnt help his case at all. I think he is crazy. no normal person would want to kill some one because of their eye. He spends night after night sneaking into his room just staring at him. and the night he finally kills him he cuts the body up and places it under the floor boards no sane person would do that. ans what makes it worse it that he was using the sound of his heart beat to feed into his anger. the part in the story when i decided he was actually crazy was at the end. he invites the police in and is very cocky. he wants to see if he actually did a good job hiding the body. the only reason he showed him the body is because he lost it and kept hearing his heart beat from under the floor boards. In the end he was insane. The story its self was very good i enjoyed it a lot better then a Rose for Emily, this story is very easy to read and understand.

A Rose For Emily

I just got done reading the this short story and although it was a good story I found myself being confused at the end like did she kill Homer? Did the actually get married and then she used the poison she bought to kill him? I mean she was all alone and everyone she knew had left her so did she just keep him there so she wouldnt have to be alone? This story has a lot of detail and it helps you picture what is happening through out the story but i am not sure i liked it. Like it is well written but I dont understand the message the author is trying to get across or even if there is one.
